FEATURED DATABASE of the Month

Now that you are starting to do research for school assignments think about the best way to find quality information. Google is easy to use, but the information is not always reliable. Houston Public Library subscribes to two databases designed to help students with homework with easy to use search options and quality sources to keep your teacher happy.

Kids Search-Uses a kid friendly search interface and includes full text articles from magazines for elementary school students. Features for middle school students include biographies, primary source documents, full text articles and images.

Searching using Kids Search allows you to perform a simple Google-like basic search on the homepage. If you want to limit your search by subject select the appropriate picture. For something different, try the Visual Search option which allows you to enter a broad topic and then to chose related terms to narrow your search.
