Mientras cantan, los niños fingen tener una cuchara en la mano para batir una taza de chocolate con leche.

While singing, the children pretend to have a spoon in hand in order to whip up a cup of chocolate.

Cinco calabacitas sentadas en un portón;
La primera dijo: (apunte al dedo pequeño)
“Se está haciendo tarde.”
La segunda dijo: (apunte al segundo dedo)
“Hay brujas en el aire.”
La tercera dijo: (apunte al tercer dedo)
“No le hace.”
La cuarta dijo: (apunte al cuarto dedo)
“Es una noche de espanto.”
La quinta dijo: (apunte al pulgar)
“Corremos, corremos.”

U-u-u-u hizo el viento.
Y se apagaron las luces (aplauden recio)
Las cinco calabacitas
Corrieron a esconderse.
(Corren los dedos hacia detrás de su espalda.)

Five little pumpkins sitting on a gate;
the first one said: (point to your pinky finger)
“My it’s getting late.”
The second one said: (point to your ring finger)
“There are witches all around.”
The third one said: (point to your middle finger)
“That’s alright.”
The fourth one said: (point to your index finger)
“It’s a spooky night.”
The fifth one said: (point to your thumb)
“Run, run.”

Ooh-ooh said the wind.
And the lights went out.
The five little pumpkins
Run and hide.
(Hide your fingers behind your back)

Then it began to rain
and he ran into his house.

This one bought a little egg.
This one starts to cook it.
This one sprinkles it with salt.
And this one tastes a teeny bit.
Then this little chubby one,
Eats it all up!

dinerito en el bolsón,
que no se lo lleve
ningún ladrón.
pónmelo aquí,
el ochavito y el maravedí.

Pon, pon;
there’s money in the purse
that no thief can take.
Give me the pieces of eight
and the maravedí.

Cinco lobitos
Tuvo la loba,
Blancos y negros
Tras de la escoba.
Cinco crio,
Cinco cuidó
Y a todos ellos
Solita enseñó.

The mother wolf had five baby cubs;

black ones, white ones all in a row.

She raised them and bathed them

and taught them all they know.

This one cooked her (middle)
This one served her (ring)
And this little rogue
Ate her all up.
